Albeit this is not the newest Qashqai, but it is a really cool Qashqai-R

SVM (Severn Valley Motorsports) is giving their 1500hp Nissan Qashqai R away to some lucky person in a competition posted on Facebook.

I'll post a link for the contest details as I'm not really the gambling type, but I rather talk a bit more about the Qashqai R here.
Besides its staggering output, this previous-gen Nissan Qashqai also features two Bugatti Veyron fuel pumps, two Garrett GT35 Series turbochargers, BoostLogic injector intake manifold, SVM 102 mm performance exhaust system, Dixcel performance brakes, and KW coilover suspension. The exterior is adorned with SVM decals and the interior has been upgraded with a GT-R dashboard and seats.
This little beast of a vehicle can hit a 1/4 mile time of 9.1 seconds and reach 222mph in slightly over a mere mile. Sleeper ? I think so.

Article on it here: http://www.carscoops.com/2016/09/svm-giving-away-their-1500hp-nissan.html

1500hp? If only I lived close by so I could join the competition and have a chance of winning. That sounds like a beast of a qashqai.

222mph in slightly over a mile is definitely a beast. I wish I could win it too !

Would love to check up on some videos of it.

Put on some sticker tires and in the 1/4 mile you could probably break into the high 8 second range. Even 8.9 would be quite something. Smoke some ferrari's while you have a full load of groceries.

Have they given it away yet? Nissan should make it a requirement for the winner to do a review and post it on youtube.

I'm pretty sure it's running some drag slicks. But it'll be a "small tire" and by the looks of it, probably a 235-245 ? If we do some mini tubs and throw on some 275 mickey thompson... it'll really hook up beautifully !

rather seem them keep it the way it currently is but on sticky road course tires since that will be a true test of how good of a Nissan it is doing the sort of thing you would expect from a nissan, drag racing is great but there's nothing like seeing something like this or anything as powerful as it ripping around the turns.

For it to be ripping around turns, it'll have to be developed like a Formula 1 race car considering the vast amount of horsepower it has. "Bit" easier to keep it as a drag car that'll still be street-able technically.

Especially considering the body height of these things and their track width, I wouldn't feel too comfortable taking these on the track with so much power under the pedal

Lol that's one heck of a street car. Would hate to be piloting that in any sort of traffic whatsoever.

When you have to add those stabilizers in the rear just to take it onto the street, should you really be ripping it down the average street? At least the 1500hp Qashqai looks well planted.

Should you or shouldn't is all a matter of perception... Me personally, no way in heck. That's too much for me in a street car if there's a parachute on the back of it lmao. The 1500hp Qashqai does look planted though as it doesn't have any of that equipment on it
