Hello all-
I am completely new to the Nissan and can already tell a difference in the driving and drivability of my Rogue Sport vs. the Dodge Dart GT I traded in. It has me almost to the point of paranoia because I’m not used to the CVT and literally no acceleration off the line. Anyone else experience these things? Also, I feel as though the vehicle is being slightly tugged by a trailer when I hold the gas pedal at any specific speed above 40? Also experiencing rough starts and idle. Again, it’s a 2017, one owner, with 22,500 miles on it. Took it to the dealership and they of course could not replicate the issues, said there was a software upgrade for the ECU and TCU which should fix these issues. Any thoughts or solutions?

Your Dart had a 2.4L engine? 184hp vs Nissan MR20DD 2L 141hp. Also the RS weighs 300lb more AND is AWD. There's your big difference. Honestly, our FWD base RS feels really peppy off the line....afterwards that's another story. The rough starts and idle....have you changed out the air filter? These engines really dirty the air filter quite quickly. ALSO....This is a direct injection engine and the recommended (BY Nissan for Cafe mileage guidelines/regulations) the 0w-20 is way too thin to start with and because of DI, a small trace of gas is present in the oil. (Take a sample and take a smell. You'll understand.) This will thin the oil further. Use 5w-30 oil unless you live in the Arctic Circle. Your engine will run smoothe.r Elsewhere around the world, this same engine oil recommendation is 5w-30 and thicker viscosity. As far as the CVT transmission, completely different than a standard automatic transmission. BUT...there's seven gears if you wish to shift manually. Finally, you're not going to get very much more out of this engine. It is what it is.This is a "grocery" sled, not a "GT" rocket ship. :)

Thanks for the tip on the oil. Believe it or not, I just had it changed a week ago and it really started running a bit more rough than when I initially picked it up. The lifters are actually louder now most likely due to the thin oil. I’ll be changing that out shortly then.
