I really do appreciate the format Alex on Autos uses for his reviews, everything is laid out clearly and he compares it to similar models in the segment. Fuel economy could be better but acceleration time comes in second and the rear passenger space isn't bad either.
I was a little bit disappointed with its 0-60 time... I was expecting to see less than 9.5 sec for AWD model. Speaking of AWD system that Rogue has, it seems like engaging here is way more stable and safer than in other SUV from the same segment.
Well the Rouge Sport has a 141-hp 2.0-liter inline-four unit, I don't expect anything like a 6 second sprint time. Actually think 9.5 seconds is okay and I've seen worse.
I thought it had a 1.6L turbo, probably that's why I was expecting faster 0-60 time. Anyways, you're right, it's not bad for a car like this.
The Nissan Sentra Nismo has a 1.6L turbo with 188 hp, that engine may be more to your liking though I wouldn't mind seeing it in the Rouge Sport. That'll have to remain as a pipe dream because I can't imagine Nissan Motorsports willingly putting that inside a crossover.

Agree. Do you think there is another way to make Nissan Rogue faster and more powerful?
I don't think there are any Rouge specific power mods out there, at least not in the tune department. There are oil filters, but they aren't really power enhancing.
Well, then I guess we should wait and pray that the next generation of Rogue will come up with a more powerful engine.

What sort of number are you looking for when it comes to performance? Rogue Sport is already sporty enough for a CUV, anything beyond it requires you spend double the money to get an Audi, BMW or even a Lexus.
Well, I would like to see something around 8 sec for 0-60 test. In my opinion, current 9.5 sec is too much for this vehicle.
On the bright side this leaves them room to come out with a Nismo version that could very well meet that 8 second mark but at this stage in the industry I think they will be better off launching a hatch that can rival the Focus RS and Civic Type R. Then maybe doing something similar to a CUV like this.
