Has anyone heard or read anything regarding the use of the new ILSAC GF-6 A 0W-16 oil in the MR20DD engine?

From the way this is being marketed, it sounds like 'super oil' and is backward compatible with the current API SN plus 0W-20 that we're all urged to use in the Owners Manual. I know there are two specs for this oil - A and B, with the B version required for those engines with a supercharger. From what's been written on it, the B version was designed to combat Low-Speed Pre-ignition caused by low engine speed and heavy loads.

The A version was designed to replace SAE 0W-20, SAE 5W-20, SAE 0W-30, SAE 5W-30, and SAE 10W-30, but not SAE 0W-16. This standard will continue to utilize the starburst symbol for licensing.

The following link is to the Pennzoil page that describes this issue

The qashqai has no turbo in america so we dont need that oil. Interesting though.
That would be for the B version of the new standard - the A version replaces the older standard of API N+, which is where the 0W-20 synthetic oil required by Nissan falls. The 0W-16 is even thinner but had better protection for things like the timing chain. Do you have the 2.0L engine up there like we have down here in the US?
