Anyone experiencing hard starts on these vehicles? I'm considering buying and just happen to have a rental for a couple of weeks. Last two days, engine turned over for a few seconds before start up. Sounding more like an engine with worn points rather than a computer controlled fuel injection. I've been running it in ECO mode.

Wouldn't say that's typical of the model. There's a chance that the battery in your rental could've been a bit rundown.

Our RS starts very easily. (Could be the low-viscosity 0w-20 oil?) I do know, when its time for a new battery we'll be getting an AGM battery. PulseTech Xtreme Charger is a fantastic product for charging and maintaining your battery. I concur w/the previous post.

My RS starts pretty quickly but I dont like the stutter upon first taking off.

same here, starts after couple seconds, battery is fine and it was doing it since day 1

Mine is hard starting first in the morning,dealership did a factory reset should solve the problem but it continues.

Ive been into the dealer recently who suggested changing the air filter,I declined.Upon changing it myself noticed very dirty,hard starting did not occur when I first got the vehicle.So I think the hard starting was due to clogged air filter,much better now. K&N is making the car more responsive ,too

Mine has always had hard starts. Never had a car that took this long to start. Changed battery as it did test low, maybe a bit better, but still hard starts most of the time. It always does start though, just sounds like it might not sometimes.
