So, this is a little disappointing. I noticed there's no BOSE sound system in the SL. This is the first Nissan I've owned that doesn't have it in the top-of-the-line trim.

However, the stock system runs pretty loud (and bass heavy) at low volume. Like at volume 4 and no adjustments to the treble/bass - I can hear it vibrate my doors. And for comparison, I would consider myself to have some sort of ear damage... I go to coachella every year. Haha

Hi snapcheta, that is the first thing I noticed about this radio. Looking on the bright side of things, I can have the radio low and still listen to the music going at highway speeds, while chatting with my passengers; no need to lower the volume to talk. Although, BOSE would have been niceeeee!!!

I did bump up the trebble, but the bass remains at zero. This way only really bassy songs rattle the speakers a bit. The radio is better than my 2015 Altima S.

You might find that adding sound proofing to certain areas of the cabin will help in gaining better sound quality. Sometimes its not the speakers but what they're are in that matters. I guess if you go through with sound proofing and still see a need for improvement, then look into speakers.

Yeah, I always wondered if I can get the 8-speaker BOSE from the Qashqai imported, but it might not be a direct fit. Not to mention, I’d have to run wire to the subs that sit in the center of the spare tire.

I’m not complaining though. It’s a little more “beaty” than I like (even absent the subwoofer), but the sound is decent. I might consider changing this in a few years, but it works for me.
